Wlep, this is it. The final three, or of course, MY final three. I’ve made my way though this originally impossible task, and I’m not going to stop now. You all know her name, but if you did not, then either keep reading this, or go look at my Top 20 IPs that demanded resurrection.

#3. Lip
Game appeared in: Panel de Pon (1995)
Creator: Nintendo
Character stance: First-party

INTRODUCTION

If you seen my Top 20 IPs that needs to be resurrected, you know that I already talked about the Puzzle League series, or rather, the main character of the first game in Japan named Lip, in detail about why she is shot and left for dead in Japan, with the only thing left of her, Lip’s Stick, being in Smash Bros. for everyone to smash the cr*p out of each other with. Her hopes of coming to the rest of the world, the character in general, is been buried alive and is rotting in IP Hell. This is one of the two special cases I am talking about, and my reason? I’ll discuss that later. But I just wanted to talk about how BAD Lip’s suffering is, and how she NEEDS to rise from her grave! But let’s save that for later.

SPECIALS

Normally, I would have her B moves be mixed in with other forgotten SNES gems made by Nintendo, but the real thing is that... ...she already has a moveset right in front of me, and I somehow didn’t see it.

Her standard B would be a move that functions like Pac-Man’s Bonus Fruit and Princess Jailbait (Peach)’s Vegetable Toss, where each block from the game has a different range and damage output. Hearts, Stars, Triangles, Circles, Diamonds and even Garbage blocks can be thrown, but they are a complete random, with Garbage blocks being something for a meteor smash.

Her Side-B would lead to a Lip’s Stick-Ception, but it would be an amplified attack version of the weapon that doubles in power if the actual weapon is held. If you already know how the weapon works, Lip wielding said weapon causes her to do double the damage and effect, but causes her to not spam it due to how overpowered it would be (if items are on and if you are not on For Glory mode.)

Now, those two B moves are what I thought are the only ones Lip has, and I would have to find moves from other games, like how Villager’s Up-B is straight from another game (Balloon Fight), but her Up-B’s from the title screen: a little puffball that she hangs onto, as it carries her though the air. is one of the things that I never really even noticed! Maybe I was too focused into bringing her back.

Her Down-B’s also hard to figure out. So hard, in fact, that I ended up having a writer’s block when thinking about it! *looks at the clock* And it just became July 4th! Ugh! So we need to give her a Down-B that is a callback to one of the other games that never got released, and having a Tamagon Fireball from Devil World (Tamagon’s the one that shoots fireballs, but she conjures them herself) shoot from her stick would be a good throwback. So yeah, this is something that happens when you have NO idea on how to dig into the character itself!

FINAL SMASH

This Final Smash for her is going to be original, which reflects her years of neglect after why her forced death was caused by Puzzle League GBA is void of any characters, story, and overall charm. She will spawn acid-neon-green ether tentacles from her back and, if connects, snatches her enemy, damaging the opponent while healing herself, then throws the opponent out. Yeah, and you thought Mega Man has a grudge? Well, Lip has it worse!

WHY THIS CHARACTER?

Okay, now it’s time to talk about the why. Again, it’s all from the Top 20 IPs that needs to be resurrected. It make it a long story short, the localization removes her with a Yoshi’s Island skin and a completely unrelated Tetris brand name, pushed into the shredder, the GBA Puzzle League shot her and left her for dead, and Lip’s Stick is just used as a battering weapon for Smash Bros.! It’s time for her to come out from the grave, and come back to the land of the living!

And that’s it for #3, and we are still close. Make sure you leave a comment below, and cast your vote before October 3rd. That’s all I have to say, let’s move on!
